“Larry’s book, In Defense of General Beauregard, is well-informative. Great read. I enjoyed reading that book and got a lot of useful insight from it. For anyone who loves reading about the Civil War or military history at all, this is the book for you.”
“Larry’s writing crosses the line from good history to fine literature making it a very moving historical book. The famous battle could not be written better than this. Highly acclaimed! I am eager to rent and see the film associated with this soon.”
“Visceral. I wish I had written this right after reading the book. This book is still my favorite read up till now about the Civil War. Its lessons are well-versed and far-reaching. I’ve never read a book before that did a finer job of conveying the inner life of its characters, like the bravery and fear, scattered thoughts, tug and tear of memory and brute necessity, and vice-versa.”
